Daniel Beck
Owner, Hilltop Writers' Group
Hilltop Writers' Group is owned and operated by Daniel Beck, a New Jersey-based historian who has been researching and writing corporate and institutional histories since 2011. For over a decade, Daniel has completed nearly thirty history projects as an independent historian and as a contractor for Lakeside Writers’ Group (Indianapolis, IN). ​

While completing his Master of Arts in American Studies at George Washington University in 2012, Daniel helped a Washington, DC-based plumbing and heating supply company celebrate its 150th anniversary with a history book and documentary. Then in 2014, he published his first independent title, CNOA: The First Fifty Years, 1964 – 2014, for the California Narcotic Officers’ Association. Since then, he has published dozens of pictorial histories for companies, associations, country clubs, and other organizations.

Before completing his M.A., Daniel received his Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Georgetown University. He currently resides in New Jersey with his wife, two young children, and labradoodle.

On-Site and Online Research
Hilltop Writers' Group performs on-site and online archival research, reviewing corporate records, newspaper and magazine articles, brochures and other marketing materials, and genealogical histories while also performing and transcribing oral history interviews. We provide an in-depth chapter outline in advance of the writing phase.
Manuscript Writing and Editing
Hilltop Writers' Group drafts and edits/rewrites a full manuscript, including sidebars (to highlight notable people, events, etc.) and image captions. We work with our clients to ensure that their organization's story is told with historical accuracy and narrative flair.
Image Collection and Organization
We review, scan, and organize photographs, news and magazine articles, logos, brochures, and other visual media for inclusion in the final product. We work with our clients to make the final product as visually appealing as possible while coordinating with skilled designers at our affiliated publisher.
